Closure of Hantscare
A Message from David Newman:
As many of you will know I have been working with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) as a part time consultant since leaving Hampshire Cricket in 2003. In September 2018 I took on the role of Medical Services Manager for the Cricket World Cup 2019, initially part time and then full time for the tournament itself. This was an amazing experience working with a fantastic group of people, culminating in that final; one of England’s greatest sporting moments! I have had some marvellous experiences in cricket and that was definitely the icing on the cake.

Following on from the World Cup I have taken on a new post as ECB Emergency Care Coordinator, alongside my injury surveillance and injury database management role. It is therefore with much sadness and regret that I have to announce that as from the 17th January 2020 I shall be closing Hantscare. I initially thought that I could continue the practice on a very part time basis, but due both to time and financial pressures I realise that it is not possible to keep so many plates spinning.
I would like to thank all the patients that have come through Hanstcare, many of whom I think of more as friends than patients. I have got to know you and your families, in one case I have seen 4 generations, shared some wonderful moments and some very sad ones. I feel very honoured to have been part of your lives, thank you.
It would be remiss of me not to thank all the staff and practitioners who have worked with me over the years and also the various referral companies that we have worked with.
Thank you
David
